color palettes

Love this color palette featured in the current issue of Martha Stewart Weddings (Fall 2011).  It’s definitely something different, yet there’s also something classic about it.  Chartreuse, plum, and aqua kind of get me excited individually, so you can imagine all the oohs & aahs coming out of my mouth as I saw the photos featuring these three colors TOGETHER.

Do you consider “white” a color? While white on white on white may seem a little “lackluster” to some, I am absolutely in love with it. It’s more than just the fact that it simply looks flawless & chic to me. It’s fresh & just reminds me of new beginnings and traditions at the same time. I hope you get inspired by these photos that incorporate white.

As you can see, the blog has undergone yet another revamp.  Sorry, kids, I just can’t help myself.  Anyway, I didn’t get a chance to post this earlier in the week, but there’s not better time than now to share this color palette inspiration board in light of the recent loss of the stunning Elizabeth Taylor.  I wouldn’t really consider myself an over-the-top Elizabeth Taylor fan, but having seen all of the news stories about her life and the photos of her throughout the years, I kept finding myself saying “Gosh, she was gorgeous!”  Well, her stunning eyes were the inspiration behind this color palette.

Inspiration: Ruffled Pink

by admin on February 18, 2011

in color palettes, inspiration

I can never get uninspired by the color pink or lovely ruffles, so I thought I would put together (yet again) another pink color palette for inspiration.  Badgley Mischka shoes, peonies, layers, tulle, & cupcakes.  What a sight!  I can say it over & over, but I’m sure you pink haters will disagree, that pink is the new black (at least in my book).  Think about it.  Depending on the particular shade of pink, it can truly go with anything.  Try me.  Give me a color, and I am positive I would be able to find the perfect shade of pink to go with it.

Anyway, enough with challenges… here is the inspiration board.  Enjoy!

I thought I would put together an inspiration board with a classic, timeless feel.  I wouldn’t describe it as over-the-top, or vintage, or modern, or chic.  So I went with classic & timeless.  It sounded nice.  Chiavari chairs, peonies, mojitos, twine, ring pillow, pearls, & a cake topper.  No crazy bridesmaid dresses.  I like those kind of weddings.  What about you?
